Security and Gate access
Security in our neighborhood is an important issue. That is why we have a gate system to limit access. It only works with the cooperation of ALL owners and ALL those you have given your codes to. We have purchased Crystal Mountain windshield stickers to distinguish owners' vehicles in the neighborhood from those that are just visiting. If a new sticker is needed, please ask a Board member for a windshield sticker and place it above your inspection sticker.
If you see something that looks suspicious going on, the Blanco County Sheriff is the one to call. Use 911 if it looks like an emergency situation. Otherwise use 830-868-7104 for the dispatcher. Write down any details that could help identify persons or vehicles to the sheriff later. You may need to remind the dispatcher that the emergency response front gate code is in their system as 203 Crystal Mountain Drive (POA mailing address).
Private Property
All lots in Crystal Mountain were sold to individual owners (see Maps). There are no POA common areas other than the roads, ditches, and mailbox area. You should NOT leave the roadways lest you trespass on someone else's property (this includes the PEC transmission line easement). Please make sure your guests are aware of this policy if they venture out on your ATV or other vehicle.

Gate Access Details
Gary Reeves and Bob King have volunteered to ride herd on our system, so they are the ones to contact with any changes needed or to notify of any faults with gate operations. If you feel that someone has access to your code and should not have it, let Gary or Bob know immediately.

Access Modes
Gate access is obtained by using a REMOTE control; using PERSONAL, SERVICE, CONTRACTOR, or REALTOR codes; or by a call from the KEYPAD to the owner directly.

Remote Controls
One remote is provided to each owner (household). Additional remotes can be purchased from Gary Reeves with a check to CMPOA. You may want to coordinate your vehicle's Homelink system instead of using an additional remote. If you have problems programming it, Gary or others may be able to help you. New owners should get with Gary to make sure that all desired remotes are enabled properly and undesired ones are returned to the POA.

Six Digit Codes
Gary will assign a PERSONAL code to each owner (household). It is to be used only by owners and members of their household, typically on a regular basis. If you are having family or friends over for a single visit, please DO NOT give them your personal code for entry. See KEYPAD below.
Gary will assign a SERVICE code to each owner (household). It is to be used by regularly-arriving service persons such as lawncare, pool service and housekeeping. If you are not comfortable that they will keep the code to themselves, you should make other arrangements for their access to our neighborhood. See KEYPAD below.
If you are having something built at your site over an extended period of time, you will want to contact Gary for a CONTRACTOR code. It is limited to several months' duration and will EXPIRE after that. It is also limited as to time of day and days of the week. There is no charge for a Contractor code.
If you are selling your property, you will want to contact Gary for a REALTOR code. It is limited to several months' duration and will EXPIRE after that. It is also limited as to time of day. There is no charge for a Realtor code. We have had a few potential buyers enter unattended and/or after dark, which is not good for security. Please discuss with your realtor the need to keep a Realtor code available only to realtors, not clients.

Keypad Access
Gary will record the names and phone numbers that you want the KEYPAD to use to allow entry into the neighborhood. The keypad works with landlines or cell numbers. A visitor will look up your name in the keypad directory and then enter the digits shown by your name. The keypad will call the number on file and you will key "9" on your phone to open the gate or "ӿ" to disconnect without granting access.
